Not only that the Qatari have donated space and power.
Qatar also has taken over the costs for the transponder, which is built
by Mitsubishi Electronics, as the satellite. We really wanted to build
the transponder, but for the first P4 project, Qatar and we decided to
build the transponder by Meco according to our specifications, otherwise
there would have been a problem with certification, integration and safety.
Hopefully for the next Qatari Geo Sat, if the project is successful, we
can build the next transponder itself.
