Note: not trying to play ham cop. Isn't there supposed to be a control operator present at the radio? What happens when the rig or computer has an issue and locks up during transmit?

If you download teamviewer on the shack computer and on your smartphone,
you can run FT8 or whatever else digital program remotely using your
cellphone. It is pretty neat to be making FT8 QSOs while walking around
the mall or sitting in a doctor's office. If you have the right rig and
right rig control software you can also do CW and SSB, although you might
be limited to canned messages. I picked up a few new band and/or mode
countries this year so far doing that.
