[amsat-bb] BIRDS-2 Packet digipeater

Hi Bob!

The packets were indeed spaced out way more than on the recording. I
removed the gaps between each packet to make the recording shorter.

73!

That audio sounds like something is sending a regular repeating packet
once every 3 seconds. Sounds too regularly spaced for randome user
packets. That is a pretty high load on the 145.825 channel if it is doing
that 24/7 around the world.. But maybe it is over a ground station and is
downlinking data. Then it is OK. But if it is so weak, it probably is
not a problem... Bob, WB4aPR

Same here. I've monitored numerous passes and the SNR is just too low.

Here's a tweet I just posted w/ a link to how the audio sounded at my end:

... setup is a 2m X-Quad w/ AZ/EL tracking. Both UZ7HO Soundmodem &
Direwolf (iGate) are using the audio from my TM-V71A which does very well
with PSAT, FalconSat-3, & terrestrial 1200 packet. Of course worked great
with the ISS digipeater also.

So, they've just got too little RF power, deviation, antenna... or
something.

By the way, the 70cm CW beacons continue to operate on 437.375 & they are
pretty strong.
