Actually...if you use SDR#, there is a plugin that will use frequency data out of SatPC32 (via DDE) that will change the frequency of a number of SDR units...it will change the frequency, set the mode and filter width, etc. so automated changing of satellites is very doable.
I've done this successfully with:
FCDP
FCDPP
Airspy
Airspy Mini
RTL based dongles
HDSDR is another good program that will let you do similarly. Somehow I've settled on SDR#...
If you become a telemetry nut, you'll also learn to appreciate what I call "native support" of the FCDPP in programs like Funcube Dashboard and FoxTLM. They actually take control of the dongle and you don't need to use something like SDR#/plugin.
There are lots of ways to skin that cat!
