Yes, you want "Map North" and not "Magnetic North".

The USGS lists magnetic deviation needed to correct your compass readings. In Southern California I had to make a 12.5* correction. Here in Northern Colorado it's only 8.5*.

Subject: [amsat-bb] True bearings vs. magnetic

I recently saw a question about this, but missed the answer. Being a newbieto sats also, I was wondering about that too. I assume it’s true bearings, because if it were magnetic, that would entail everyone to calculate thedeclination from there locale. So is it true?Thanks!RickKE6LL_______________________________________________Sent via AMSAT-BB at amsat.org.
