[amsat-bb] NASA Helical Antenna Question

Hi all..

Is there any details on the web about this type of helix, have never seen
it with a ring reflector in books.    I have seen a few different shapes of
reflector cup, and cone which can give a good increase in gain, but also
the extra gain is not wide bandwidth..
I run a 12 turn helix now
