[amsat-bb] Help with SatPC32 Labjack Yaesu 5500 rotator control

Erich,

So far the stalls have occurred in the middle of the night. One was showing
the elevation at 4 degrees, with the target at 0. The Labjack server was
indicating a down command. I closed and restarted SatPC32 and when I
selected Park, it dropped to 0 and the desired azimuth. The second time was
an azimuth problem, with a large difference between the commanded and actual
position. The Labjack server was indicating a turn. Closing and restarting
cleared the problem.

There are two changes that I know of. I recently changed the rotor position
change window from 3 degrees to 10 degree to reduce wear, as that is close
enough for LEOs. I have reset that to 3 degrees to remove the variable.

Mark, G0MGX suggested that I look at KB4103718, which has been reported to
be causing some USB issues. I have removed it, and will see what happens.
If it happens again, I will get more details. It certainly looks like
something in the OS rather than SatPC32.

73,

Alan

<Hello Alan, Nick and others,
<I didn't make any changes with ServerLabjack. The file is unchanged
<since Dec. 12. 2012. SatPC32 itself only outputs the target positions
<to ServerLabjack. Only this file then checks whether the rotors have
<reached the target positions.
<Is there any correlation between updating the target positions by
<SatPC32 and stalling of the rotor?
<
<I also use Windows 7, 64-bit and the Labjack U-12 with a KR-5600.
<Lately I used it for multiple satellite passes and I just tested full
<360° turns of the az. rotor/ 90° turns of the el. rotor in both
<direction (entered target postions in menu "Rotor"). No issues so far.
