Hi Bob,

I haven't a clue how I would go about doing that.
I would not have even noticed the double hop, had you not pointed it ou.

I thought it looked strange when I saw it, but I chalked it up to something
peculiar about PSAT, not having used it before.

I just got my sat station operational in the last few days, after having it
off the air for a few years. When I lost my az/el to the mice (chewed thru
coax and rotor cables, I pretty much gave up. Then recently, I started
using my old EggBeaters and found I could get telemetry from AO-85/91/92
and AO-73.

Then I used the 2m EB to listen to XW-2a/b,c/d/e/f and CAS-4A and 4B.

I've always been active in APRS since the early days with you and dosAPRS.
In fact, I think I was one of the earliest adopters of APRS.

I have a large collinear at a HAAT of 43 meters for my APRS digipeater. It
has a mobile range of about 30 to 40 miles. I use the UHF side of that same
antenna for a digital Fusion node (Yaesu) and sometimes steal it to listen
to low elevation sat passes.

Back to satellites: I got so enthused by copying tlm from the FM birds,
that I used my FM radio and the Eggbeaters to work a few guys via the FM
birds, but ..well. it just aint the same as all the fun I had with
AO-6,7,8,10,13 and 40. When 40 died, I lost interest.

Anywho, with my renewed interest in sats, I decided I should get something
to use the linear birds with the eggbeaters, so I picked up a Yaesu FT857d
and it has worked very well. I control it with SDR Console v 3.03 (which
has a fantastic satellite section), and receive using the same program and
an SDRPlay RSP2. So I have full duplex.

After copying some SSTV last week from ISS, I got enthused...looked around
the shack and dusted off an old Kenwood G-707 radio , found USB > ComPort
adapter that would plug directly into the Kenwood and had an unused Arrow
J-Pole at 15' above the pole I had my az/el system on. So now, I have a
full time 24x7 packet station on 145.825 using UISS and UTZHO soundmodem.
That is N0AN-10

I also let the SDR system sit on 145.825 when I'm not in the shack. It is
connected on 2m to my Eggbeater, and I run a copy of Direwolf as an Igate
server for anything that shows up on 145.825 packet. (That is N0AN-6)

Nice touching base with you again, and hope I didn't bore ya to sleep.

73, N0AN
Hasan
