Did you notice this in the FAQ docs. As you really have to dig into it a bit to catch this critical step.

I have a TS-2000x and it works just fine with this.

Kenwood TS-2000 CAT problem with SatPC32 vers. 12.8c and later

With SatPC32 and SatPC32ISS version 12.8c I use a new component to manage the serial ports. The old component supported only COM port numbers up to 15. The new USB-to-Serial adapters generate often virtual port numbers > 15, however.

Steering the TS-2000 with SatPC32 and SatPC32ISS vers. 12.8c requires the option "RTS+12V" (SatPC32 menu "Setup" > "Radio Setup") to be checked. That imitates the hardware handshaking the TS-2000 expects.

Another solution is a homemade RS-232 cable with only the 3 lines Ground, RxD, TxD wired and a wire bridge between CTS and RTS (pins 7 and 8 of the DB-9 plug) on the TS-2000 side.

Hope that helps,
Walter/K5WH

Subject: [amsat-bb] SatPC32 and windows 10

I was successfully using Windows 7 to run SatPC32 and suffered a catastrophic failure of the computer so I had to replace it.

I replaced it with a used Windows 10 computer.

I can install SatPC32 and get it set up, as best as i remember how to do.
Things seem to be working except for the doppler tracking of the CAT control.
I know SatPC is talking to my TS-2000 because it goes into satellite mode when I start SatPC. Also, I can click on the CW tab and it changes to CW and back when I deselect it. But no doppler tracking control.

I'm at a loss as what to do at this point.

Thanks for any help.

Mike Stansberry, K0TER
