I disagree. KG5CCI was kind enough to allow my daughter to make her first linear satellite contact with Europe using his equipment. That created a thirst that she wanted more than FM satellites. Sometimes the truth hurts. I’ve been doing this for a couple of decades and now have a General daughter and another daughter studying for her Tech and making contacts with me as a control op. The best thing for kids is to set them up for success where they can make a contact using appropriate equipment.
