[amsat-bb] sat dx

I think the last operation was our FJ/N0KV operation in April of 2018.
WD0E doing the sat operation.

St. Barts is very expensive to get to and stay at.  It's "the playground
of the rich and famous".  Multi million dollar yachts in the harbor even
in off season.  Most of the island is rental or lease villas, some for
as much as $10,000 a night.  Our group found one that was sort of
reasonable (the Linn Villa). The bonus was about a 1/4 acre with low
bushes we could set up HF antennas in.  Very unusual to find that much
property at a villa.

We went to lunch in Gustava one and only one day. Nice bar on a
beautiful beach in a cove.  $45 for a cold sandwich, frys and a beer.

At that time some of the buildings were still boarded up from the 2017
hurricane that devastated Sint Maarten and other islands. From what I
can see St. Barts is pretty much back to normal.  Too much tourist money
to be made.

Craziest airport in the world, or at least near the top.  Lots of videos
of flight operation there available online.  There are also live webcams
around the island including the airport.  We took the ferry because we
were lugging Pelican cases of equipment but I'm not sure I would have
flown anyway.

So enjoy the contacts there. Folks who go are spending significant time
and money to activate it.
