Charles,
A bunch of us spent a long time trying to get this to work, I tried
with my kantronics 9612.
Icom was asked many times where the bottleneck is, hardware?
firmware? and they
refuse to say one way or the other. Their only answer has been that "we"
should have seen
them removing 9600 packet support from the mobile market so it should
have been no big
surprise that they removed it from the 9700.
