Have you actually seen a carrier (like a single frequency spike/birdie)?
 Or are you talking about when the modulation seems to "hang" between a
phase shift?   I've noticed that, myself, but just ASSumed that it was
normal (like the "dual carrier" tones that you see with the funcubes
telemetry).
