Don,
The opportunity to speak with an astronaut is handled through a program
called ARISS - Amateur Radio on the International Space Station. There is
a proposal process through which schools and other organizations are
selected to participate in the program. Currently there are two open
widows for proposals each year. We are current in one of those windows
that closes March 31, 2020, for contacts that will occur January 1, 2021
through June 30, 2021. The process is explained and proposal forms can be
found at https://www.ariss.org/apply-to-host-an-ariss-contact.html
It is a great program and a real adventure for the students.
If there a further questions please send them to
ariss.us.education at gmail.com
Thank you for your interest in the ARISS program
