START with SIMPLE ... Build a Vertical Dipole for 70cm,
then LISTEN to RS-44 beacon and linear transponder.

20 years ago, Jerry Brown, K5OE wrote a series of DIY Antenna Construction articles, some of these were published in the Amsat Journal. These satellite and VHF/UHF antennas were built by countless AMSAT members across the world.

Jeff, K7XQ had problems with all Eggbeater designs (not impressed with performance).
He developed a Tall Quadfillar Helix Antenna ... but no longer posted on web page.

I have been trying to find a used Eggbeater or similar antenna to use to listen for Satellites.
The exchange on the USD to CND currency is a killer. I noticed many plans to build one on the internet. Any suggestions which one would be worth trying for RX to start?
