Quick list of scheduled contacts and  events:

As you may or may not be aware, ARISS trains each ISS crew  before they go up 
to the ISS on using the onboard radios and ARISS  procedures.  To make the 
training more realistic, ARISS has arranged for a  local Houston school to 
participate in 2 simulated ARISS contacts with  crewmembers in training at JSC.  
These two contacts will be retransmitted  on IRLP and the W5RRR repeater.  
Please note, that the times may fluctuate  somewhat depending on how well the 
training is going and crewmember  availability.

STS-122 launched on time at 2008-02-07 19:45  UTC and is chasing the ISS.
STS-123 launch tentatively scheduled for about  2008-03-13 

Total number of ARISS ISS to earth school contacts is  334. 
Total number of ARISS supported terrestrial contacts is 4.  (***)

ARISS expects no school contacts until STS-122 launches due  to the crew work 
schedule.  We will keep everyone informed of any  changes.

There  have been rumors in the past indicating that the ISS was having direct 
contacts  on the 40 meter band.  There is no HF radio equipment on board and  
available yet.  The HF antenna is mounted.  Sometimes WA3NAN will  retransmit 
shuttle  audio.
