Please join us in listening to the ISS contact with participants at the

Kline School, Costa Mesa, CA, telebridge via IK1SLD on Thursday, December
6th. AOS is scheduled for 2000 UTC and the event will begin about 20
minutes prior to AOS

The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The
contact will be a telebridge between OR4SS and IK1SLD in Italy. The contact
is expected to be conducted in English.

Kline School is a small private school serving children ages 5 to 14. Each
of the classrooms accommodates an average of 8-10 students and is equipped
with SMART Boards and networked computers. All students have access to
technology 100% of the time using personal computers and laptops at their
individual desks. Using Kline School’s web-based curriculum students study
space exploration, space technologies, and amateur radio communications. A
special focus is the year-long study of the Apollo program. Students
participate meaningfully in discussions about the history and development
of the International Space Station. Using the N.A.S.A. website they learn
about the necessary adaptations to living in space. We think of the ARISS
contact as the real world application of our students’ studies of science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Audio from this contact will be fed into the:

EchoLink *AMSAT* (101377) and *JK1ZRW* (277208) servers

IRLP Node 9010 Discovery Reflector and

Streaming Audio at:https://sites.google.com/site/arissaudio/

Audio on Echolink & web stream is generally transmitted around 20 minutes
prior to the contact taking place so that you can hear some of the
preparation that occurs. IRLP will begin just prior to the ground station
call to the ISS.

Please note that on Echolink there are automatic breaks of 1.5 seconds in
the audio transmission. These occur every 2.5 minutes during the event.
Breaks on IRLP are manual and occur approximately after every third
question.

** Contact times are approximate. If the ISS executes a reboost or other
manoeuvre, the AOS (Acquisition Of Signal) time may alter by a few minutes
**
