RE: Mir to be eclipsed?
Very interesting.
I shall be in Cornwall under the totality at 11:11 local time 11 august;
Mir is predicted to rise over my horizon almost to the second of the
totality
and will be at 9 deg elevation at the end of totality 2 minutes later at
azimuth still about 45 degrees to the west of the totality event
but spacecraft will cross from west to east about 20 degrees in elevation
below the event and while a considerable portion of the sun is obscured by
the moon as seen from my position on the ground.
I intend to be monitoring solar radio emissions at 11GHz and 145 MHz,
recording light level and also D layer MF propogation.
Anything else that I can do involving Mir?
