Interesting. My problems are ALSO restricted to my USN to Serial interface.
The one serial port on each computer works flawlessly.

Tim,
The USB-serial interface seems to be the weak link in almost all
computer-to-radio programs I've seen. Could you tell me exactly which
interface you are using with the Acer, where you bought it, and, if not plug
and play, where did you get the driver?
We bought one of those little Acer notebooks but are not using it for ham
radio. I thought it was a great deal for $350 and now I'm seeing them for
as low as $250.
