[amsat-bb] Satellite Access from remote areas

I will be climbing Kilimanjaro next month.  I have not been on any of  the 
birds for a few years and back then was mostly FM satellites from remote  
locations in the US or South/Central America where I had the ability to reach  the 
US.
 
Are there any options now to use my HT and packet to store and forward  a 
short message that someone could download when the satellite is over the US or  
one that could forward a message through an internet gateway once it is over  
Europe?  Please feel free to reply to me directly.
