Especially if you bring this down converter signal into your Receive ONLY
port on the TS-2000.
That way you also protect it from any chance of accidently transmitting
through it.
I have been doing this for many years with a Hamtronics down converter like
this and it works great.

It may work at the beginning and end of the pass when the signal is clear of
the birdie, but in the middle of the pass, it's quite problematic.
If you really want to use a TS-2000 on SO-50, a downconverter like this one
from High Sierra Microwave (http://www.hsmicrowave.com/432M7.html) will
allow you to avoid the birdie. SatPC32 can be programmed to tune to the
downconverted frequency so it will work just like normal with Doppler
correction.
