[amsat-bb] TS-2000 birdie question

Does it have to be either of those radios?
FT-847s sell for less, are great satellite radios, don't have the birdie,
and computer control nicely.

It may work at the beginning and end of the pass when the signal is clear
of the birdie, but in the middle of the pass, it's quite problematic.
If you really want to use a TS-2000 on SO-50, a downconverter like this one
from High Sierra Microwave (http://www.hsmicrowave.com/432M7.html) will
allow you to avoid the birdie. SatPC32 can be programmed to tune to the
downconverted frequency so it will work just like normal with Doppler
correction.
