Gus,

You don't have to operate FM! You can have a nice AOS to LOS conversation
if you wish on AO-73, FO-29, AO-7, or any other pending linear transponder
satellites.

Besides, based on what I hear on SO-50 when South America is in the
footprint, you probably could have a nice roundtable discussion until North
America gets into the footprint on FM satellites.

I've had some decent conversations on low SO-50 passes to the east, when
it's just a couple of us on the East Coast and the fishes in the Atlantic
Ocean in the footprint. Being a single channel shared resource, though,
when it's busy demands operator courtesy.
