[amsat-bb] G5500 position pot

I have been inside several 5400s - there is a wire soldered to the wiper on the pot. This wire twists as the pot turns.  It is worth your while to make sure the wire has not failed. I have seen that twice. If you replace the wire make sure to use something with many strands.

I do not know if the 500 is the same.

Saved me replacing the pot...

I don't have a 5500 but my 5400 did the same thing. I ordered the
replacement 500 ohm pot from Yaesu in California. That was over 5 years ago
but it is worth a try. The pot needs to have the same stem length as the
original so it can be accessed via the hole in the back of the control box.
Here is the info I have on file for Yaesu parts. I hope it is still good.
