One other option would be to look at the SatNOGS project:

        https://satnogs.org

This is an open-source project to create a network of satellite ground
stations; it uses the Raspberry Pi as a reference platform.  By
default it uses RTL-SDR for a radio, but there's support for anything
supported by Hamlib as well
(https://github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/wiki/Supported-Radios).  If you
haven't looked at it already, it's worth checking out.
