[amsat-bb] BIRDS-2 Packet digipeater

Thanks Scott and Roy. I listened to Scott’s clip and that’s what I am hearing here.

The ISS voice repeater was on a few days ago. I later read that was being used to relay the packets. I did make a FM contact via the repeater before I realized what they were doing. I did hear stronger packets via that method but was not setup to decode as it caught me by surprise.

Its still a lot of fun if not just a little frustrating 😊

Same here. I've monitored numerous passes and the SNR is just too low.

Here's a tweet I just posted w/ a link to how the audio sounded at my end:

... setup is a 2m X-Quad w/ AZ/EL tracking. Both UZ7HO Soundmodem &
Direwolf (iGate) are using the audio from my TM-V71A which does very well
with PSAT, FalconSat-3, & terrestrial 1200 packet. Of course worked great
with the ISS digipeater also.

So, they've just got too little RF power, deviation, antenna... or
something.

By the way, the 70cm CW beacons continue to operate on 437.375 & they are
pretty strong.
