Ken:
I am also in queue to buy an IC-9700 as my first satellite rig. Would you
please let me know how the ³remote controlling² plan progresses.
Due to limitations at my QTH, (I need to get above 18 meter tall trees to
see horizon); I need an orbital ring rotor for my satellite work.
With goals to work DX stations and WAS, portable operation isn¹t best
suited to meet my operating goals or maybe I need to relook at this and
build a portable operating trailer.
Interesting, I have been trying for six months to buy a ring rotator for
my existing 45G tower that I can also mount an elevation rotor on the back
(unbalanced load) for satellite antennas (already bought and in my
garage).
Six months of trying (so far) and no rotor is on order because no-one can
meet the requirements. I¹ve tried K0XG Systems, AlfaRadio (Spid),
TicRing, and ProSistel.

So remote controlling a station may be the way I have to go also.. Putting
up another tower has received XYL veto.

73, CU on the birds soon.
