[amsat-bb] Adding an SDR for Satellite Operation

I’ve worked just over 100 contracts through LEO Satellites, mostly on my Icom IC-910H using SatPC32. Easy enough, but I’d like to use one of my SDR receivers for the RX side. But I’m not certain how to go about it.

Can I simply route the RX antenna to the SDR and use the IC-910H for the uplink? How do I get them to track together and compensate for Doppler? Do I need to protect the SDR from the RF levels on the TX side (even though it will be on another band?)

Searched Google for “How to” articles, but haven’t found anything very helpful. If someone has a link or just some advice, I’d be most grateful.

I’ve got an Elad FDM-S2, Airspy, SDRPlay RSP-2, and others to try this with.
