[amsat-bb] Portable operation from travel trailer/truck camper

Bob,

Tripod allows you to move the antenna to a spot with the best horizon, independent of the truck or trailer.  You can carry it to the top of the nearest hill. 

Mast allows you to get above the truck, trailer, and the neighboring trailers.  May work better if you’re working multiple passes.  

FYI:  I have a really nice tripod setup, but I’ve switched to hand holding my Arrow because it allows me to adjust polarity by twisting my wrist.  With polarity adjustment, my handheld Arrow hears better than my tripod setup with Yaesu G-5500 ax/el setup. 

Your mileage may vary.
