Well, it appears the ARRL adds to the LoTW confusion themselves.

For Awards, on DXCC there are categories for modes CW, PHONE & DIGITAL.

For WAS there are categories for modes CW, PHONE, DIGITAL, FT4, FT8, PSK31
and RTTY.

For VUCC, there are no mode categories since it only concerns Grids.

For QSO listings, there are a ton of modes available. But, when it comes to Voice type
modes there are many varieties - PHONE, FM, AM, SSB, etc. However there NO
entries for USB or LSB, just SSB.

In the newest version of TQSL, there are mode choices for SSB-type QSOs of USB, LSB
and merely SSB in addition to many other types of modes in the longest list ever known
to mankind.

So, is there any wonder that LoTW users are confused????? Sometimes it's PHONE and
sometimes it's SSB and sometimes it's a version of SSB (LSB/USB). GEEEEESH!!!!

Hello Wes,

a properly logged sat qso is with correct uplink mode+dwnlink mode, the correct uplink+dwnlink freq(band), propagation mode SAT, time, etc.
when uploading my qso's, every time some qsl's are rejected because people log them wrong. Without the right propagationmode SAT most of them looks like a tropo qso, and that's not the the same. You need to use good logging software.
I've never seen VOICE as a mode of operation btw...

Anyone else not pleased with the new version "improving" LOTW, at least as
it involves SAT contacts?  Can we get ARRL to undo some things?  At least
on my computer, you no longer can press the Enter key to go down entry
fields one after another.  It's a much slower process now.  Also, the two
most common modes that we've been using on LOTW, CW and VOICE, are no
longer first in line, where an expanded list of modes is alphabetized.
This also slows down entries.  Worse yet, VOICE is no longer a listed mode
at all.  It's been replaced by SSB, LSB and USB.  I could be wrong, but
isn't this in particular going to make QSO matching more difficult?  Should
SAT ops simply enter SSB, or should it be USB (the output of satellites) or
LSB (our input to them)?  In sum, the whole process is now slower with
multiple opportunities for matching errors and contacts not being
confirmed.  Ugh.
