Hi Tim,
The vertical is somewhat a limitation (compared to for example an
arrow), signals will be a bit weaker. But: it is usable for sure!
The HF wire is great: you can receive for example AO07 with it
(downlink 10 meters), and that is just awesome.

That is a one page overview of all satellites. The best there is.
Reports on Cubesats (and a bit more): http://www.dk3wn.info/p/
Why Cubesats: there are a lot, you can use them to test your system.
Reports on amateur satellites: http://www.amsat.org/status/
When ISS is back with packet, you should be able to hear that on your
vertical for sure.

Let us know what you can hear and what not, the group will help you.
Welcome & enjoy !

HI Folks;
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!
Reading the thread on receiving the weather satellites has sparked a
bit
in me. I would like to be able to capture the telemetry and beacons
from
amateur satellites -- Ive got a 2m/440 vertical and an HF wire. An
Icom
706mk IIG and a computer running kubuntu linux. Any input or
suggestions
would be most appreciated
Thanks
TIM
