I read a thread on reddit amateurradio discussing whether an ISS downlink
could be heard on 145.500:
https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/8t9nsu/iss_repeater_active/
But I did not pay a lot of attention. Until this afternoon when I was in a
park keeping an eye on my child while keeping an ear on some 2 meter
frequencies with an HT. And indeed at some time 145.500 sprung to life with
the kind of audio that I expect from satellite contacts (gridsquares,
callsigns all in rapid succession).
I checked Hamsatdroid and indeed an ISS pass was active. Signal reception
was possible until a few seconds after LOS.
Any ideas what's going on? Or what the uplink would be? It was good to hear
actual contacts being made and not a 'zoo' like some of the other
satellites on a Sunday afternoon.
